Contemporary Irish artist Patrick Graham creates large-scale paintings and complex mixed media drawings. They are very personal and show his identity and experiences with oppression. The paint palette he uses is cold colours and limited with just a few pops of vibrant red/yellow and the majority of the composition is made up of blues/blacks which symbolises that of the Irish landscape / weather. His work also contains written phrases and scripts reinforcing his personal connection and evoking a response from the viewer which is something I really like.
